Hi all, Overpopulation, is hitting the most diverse and isolated regions. The Galapagos islands, The natives there (dont know when and where they originated from) are now overpopulating. This is causing over tourism, fishing, pollution etc. http://www.globalpost.com/video/general/090810/thailandwedeloverpopulatingparadise072109publish If we look at this small example of how overpopulation does its damage and then compare it to the global overpopulation. One could come to the conclusion on how dangerous and how much damage we are causing on a global scale. Thanks Website addresses - www.ufofacts.co.cc - www.thecircleforhumanity.net

A Crusade Against Overpopulation http://us.figu.org/portal/SocialIssues/ACrusadeAgainstOverpopulation/tabid/102/Default.aspx Terrestrial mankind’s existing major problems can only be resolved through a purposeful birth control program, by which the population is reduced to an optimum level, and scaled according to the the planet. All other problem-solving measures present trite, singularly miserable, pitiful and useless attempts that barely amount to the proverbial drop in the bucket. Such problem-solving attempts only serve instead to increase all ills and difficulties even further. Treading on a taboo http://www.numbersusa.com/content/files/pdf/Treading%20on%20a%20taboo.pdf Each Tuesday I carry the recycling to the curb and look out over a city bristling with light rail, streetcars, bicycles, eco-roofs, and little yellow bins like mine. The greenest of the green, my city styles itself, filled with good citizens leading the way to Earth's salvation. If only it were true. The sad fact is that unless we do something drastic, out-of-control population growth will wipe out the gains made by the most ambitious recycling and conservation programs, both here and across the planet. Portland's fevered efforts to stave off global warming by reducing carbon dioxide began more than two decades ago. And how much progress have we made? None. Zero. Zilch. Every day we dump more planet-threatening gas into the atmosphere. Why? Because at the same time Portland's metro-area population has grown by 42 percent. We cancel out every reduction in CO2 emissions with a gain in CO2 emitters. Projections say the metro population will grow by another million by 2030 -- even double to 3.85 million by 2060. Do you really think anything we can do will meet the goal of actually reducing total CO2 emissions? Well, maybe you do. A strange taboo keeps us from talking about the actual cause of global warming and a deadly smorgasbord of other environmental problems. In this supposedly plain-talking era, a former presidential candidate will tell us how Viagra cured his ED, but hardly anybody will talk about what's trashing the Earth. Erectile dysfunction's a bummer. But the fate of our planet is a little more worrisome. The taboo afflicts most media, including this newspaper. The Oregonian's Earth Day editorial urged support for politicians who back energy-efficient buildings, wind power, public transportation and so on. Everything but population control. Hi Michael.... Yes, they are finally OPENING...their EYES, eh... Very useful information coming from the UN, I would say. They should indeed be a good example, and which is good, now they mentioned - Population Growth - is the main factor. Well, Billy and the Plejarans DID Warn us of this. Peace in wisdom be with you, I wish to share with you/invite you to support this initiative/petition of the 'Hunger Site', which pertains to family planning and sustainability also in the Third World - forwarded to me by the 'Care2' community: 'Bring Family Planning to Third-World Nations' http://www.thebreastcancersite.com/clickToGive/campaign.faces?siteId=2&campaign=FamilyPlanning The petition reads "Help developing nations adopt family planning education. Take action!", a call, which is conform the indications/recommendations of Billy in 'A Crusade Against Overpopulation': [...] "Naturally, aid in every appropriate form is suitable, but only in those areas where its offering and provision are justifiable. Such aid may well be appropriate in underdeveloped Third World countries and in others, but never in a format where it occurs through famine aid and development relief, etc... that includes no birth control direction. Aiding these countries and their inhabitants has to consist of educating the poor in contemporary work standards and labour methods. In this way the people could enjoy an improved and more productive cultivation of their land, without the destructive interference into the natural ecological system. Furthermore, positive aid must consist of providing sound general education and schooling that results in progressive and social attitudes, and an awareness that all human beings are responsible for their own deeds and behaviour, their work, as well as their own lives. Thus, aid must consist of educating the people about the catastrophic consequences resulting from overpopulation. Likewise, aid must entail providing explanations on crucial birth control measures, contraception, and rigorous birthrate checks." [...] http://www.futureofmankind.co.uk/Billy_Meier/Overpopulation_Crusade The text of the petition: "Here in America, we're lucky that family planning is not only a right, it's an encouraged ideal within society. However, in many developing countries, contraceptives and family planning methods are prohibited. Quite often, women become pregnant because of a lack of access to the appropriate information and resources. We cannot afford to bring children into the world who, from birth, face great adversity because their parents didn't have options and assistance prior to pregnancy. Send a letter to UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon asking him to put efforts toward providing family planning support and education to families in developing nations." May reason and wisdom indeed prevail! Salome, Adam - www.thecircleforhumanity.net |

... indeed, Marbar! And the awareness seems to be steadily expanding and gaining solid grounds: 'Mullahs promote birth control in Afghanistan' - courtesy of Mr. William Ryerson, president of 'Population Institute' and 'Population Media Center', a good friend and close partner of 'The Circle For Humanity'. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/35683222/ns/world_news-south_and_central_asia/ Briefly: "Study: Contraception use jumps when benefits are explained one-on-one Wed., March. 3, 2010 Some mullahs in Afghanistan are distributing condoms. Others are quoting the Quran to encourage longer breaks between births. Health experts say contraception is starting to catch on in a country with the world's second highest maternal death rate. Afghanistan has one of the world's highest fertility rates, averaging more than six babies per woman despite years of war and a severe lack of medical care. Awareness of, and access to, contraceptives remains low among many couples, with UNICEF estimating 10 percent of women use some form of birth control. But use of the pill, condoms and injected forms of birth control rose to 27 percent over eight months in three rural areas - up to half the women in one area - once the benefits were explained one-on-one by health workers, according to the report published Monday in Bulletin, the World Health Organization's journal. "The main take-home point is that for women who do not want to be pregnant now, it can be a double tragedy for her to die from a pregnancy she did not want - especially when we could have helped her," said lead author Dr. Douglas Huber, who conducted the study for U.S.-based nonprofit Management Sciences for Health. "The fastest, cheapest, easiest way to reduce maternal deaths in Afghanistan is with contraception." Afghanistan's maternal death rate of 1,800 per 100,000 live births is topped only by Sierra Leone worldwide, according to UNICEF. The U.S. rate is 11 per 100,000 births. Quotes from the Quran Quotes were used from the Quran to promote breast-feeding for two years, while local religious leaders, or mullahs, joined community and health leaders to explain the importance of spacing out births to give moms and babies the best chance at good health. In total, 37 mullahs endorsed using contraceptives as a way to increase the time between births, some delivering the message during Friday prayers. The mullahs' major concerns centered on safety and infertility, the report said. "All the mullahs at the community level knew of these things that the Prophet Muhammad himself advised his followers," Huber said. "This was not a hard sell." Islam, unlike Catholicism, does not fundamentally oppose birth control. Everything from vasectomies to abortions are supported in various parts of the Muslim world." [...] Heed to Creation, indeed! *** Best Greetings to All in Peace, In a recent "spasm of inspiration" I emailed the following in two groups = 1st to all the beautiful spirits whom are co-workers at the Circle For Humanity, and 2nd to all my other friends and family members. The first and last sections are my own writings and the second is the introduction from the words of Billy which you will also find in "A Crusade Against Overpopulation". The email included the full text of these words from Billy. I am not here to toot my own horn, but to give you some idea of the "up-hill struggle" we at the CFH have in getting the boneheads on the Earth to recognize their self-responsibility. Some selected quotes from my own family members are included here after the last of the three sections. ***~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~*** (1)--- Subject: Responsibility To all Honorable Humans of sensitivity, compassion, and logic, in truth you all are brothers and sisters. It perhaps comes "too-late" to issue this as a warning, for these events have already begun to unfold. WE have begun to Kill the Oceans of the Earth. WE have caused the Extinction of so many Species in the Seas, in the Air, on the Land - Species we shall never see on this Earth again. WE have caused the Air, the Lands, and the Seas to become filled with so many different Toxins that more will die, the babies will die, people will die from horrible ways by numbers in the hundreds of thousands. WE are responsible for all of this. So many among us have demanded the 'Material Happiness' at 'Any-Cost'. Now see what has resulted from the demands for more and more. Do WE kill the Earth for "just one more day," "for just one more thing?" This Earth is our only Home, alone here in the vast Space. If Earth Dies, WE die with it, when life can no longer be sustained - WE become extinct. Prepare your GrandChildren, for most of them may be the last of the Human Beings. The only hope in this, is to recognize that WE are self-responsible for the damage, and that WE are self-responsible for fixing the Damage. No one is going to come to our aid. The Galactic Federation will not seal that deep well belching toxic Hydrocarbons. The Extraterrestrials will not regulate our runaway Overpopulation. No Spacecraft will drop down with loads of trees to replant the forests. It's up to us. It's our Responsibility. WE have to fix the problems here ourselves. ***~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~*** (2)--- ["To all Concerned People on Earth = The Issue of Over-Population has become Critical. Planet Earth and its inhabitants are suffering from diverse ills caused singularly and exclusively by man himself. These already existing ills, however, will continue to proliferate until finally everything completely deteriorates. The Earth’s population is plagued by famines, energy shortages, epidemics, environmental pollution, degeneration, terrorism, dictatorship, anarchism, slavery, excessive increase of waste materials, racial hatred, food shortages, destruction of rain forests, the “greenhouse effect”, pollution of lakes, streams and oceans, hatred towards asylum-seekers; radioactive emissions, chemical pollution of water, air, plants, food, human beings and animals. [...] Mankind’s horrendous ills originate from and exist through overpopulation with its unrelenting, irresponsibly continuing escalation. The situation dictates that any ill can only be fought and remedied by grasping it by its roots, ripping it out and destroying it: The numbers of terrestrial humankind must be drastically reduced."] This section of text is (Based on a text) by Billy Eduard A. Meier. More detailed explanations: http://us.figu.org/portal/SocialIssues/ACrusadeAgainstOverpopulation/ ***~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~*** (3)--- The need is to bring this issue to the attention of all 'leaders' of every community on Earth. If the ‘Leaders’ do not support this necessary step to reverse the Overpopulation, then run them out – elect Leaders that will do the will of the People, and (do) the steps necessary for continued life on the Earth. The need is to bring the Human population to an awareness of this problem and the proposed solutions. The need is to reverse the trend towards greater Over-Population before we make ourselves extinct from the effects listed in his Shared document. The need is for Logical thinking and not a need for more children. The Earth is an island floating in space - it will not get any larger than it already is to accommodate more of us. Rather the more of us, the faster will all resources run out. Please read more at: http://www.thecircleforhumanity.net ***~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~*** (end) Typical of more than one response === ["The biggest part of the population problem lies in areas not mentioned. 1. Rather than eliminating the innocent children yet to be born, we should be eliminating the persons incarcerated for violent crimes against all humanity. 2. We should not be prolonging the lives of those persons who are terminally ill by keeping them hooked up to artificial life support equipment. 3. We should be truly utilizing the resources we have through un-wasteful means. The responsibility lies in the way "we" live our lives, not with the as yet unborn children. Eliminating them fixes nothing, we the selfish and self serving living are the problem. If this article you sent truly expresses your opinion, please remove me from your contact list."] === So by this response (and others similar, though even less eloquent), the assumption seems to be that we in the campaign against the Global Overpopulation are advocating " eliminating the innocent children." Well, I am stunned by such a closed-minded response. How can the Human Beings be so obtuse, so devoid of Logical thinking? (Well, I did receive one favorable response from one of my Aunts). This response also seems to be saying that "if we only consume less, then everything will be OK". I've actually seen this response from some otherwise intelligent posters on the old Project Avalon. The thinking goes: "Consume less and we'll be OK," and/ or: "There is room on Earth for 100-Billion people," "We only need to water the deserts to grow more food." ... Ad Nauseam, ad-surdium. I suspect this is the mind-set of many of those to whom we send our message, those we never hear back from. We have favorable responses from various organizations, others directly involved with the overpopulation issue in some degree, but very few from individuals - perhaps one in a hundred or less. We have been able to form some alliances with certain of the NGOs, and will continue to cultivate them as we are able. So I'm asking you all for some help. How do we get around this kind of illogic?, How do we make the appeal any more clear? Certainly, the words are quite clear - we are in trouble here on the Earth, and we all have to pull together to solve our problems. I am well aware of the argument that only those that are ready will hear the message. I will counter that the message is to important to ignore. Please put on your 'thinking caps'. Any and all suggestions are welcome... Thank you. In Peace Salome *** ~~ TRUTH finds WISDOM finds LOVE finds PEACE -- Find What You Seek ~ Rod

Hello Rod, Can I use material from your above post #1278 to circulate in my country? In the past, I have approached a Cabinet Minister of my country via e-mail regarding overpopulation, and received no reply. I learned that e-mails sent by circleofhumanity to various beurocrats have evoked no response so far in my country. In view of this I was planning to distribute well-worded e-mail/letters to selected intellectuals and social workers, but was not sure of the content. The idea of including "Responsibility" as a topic sounds good to me along with "Overpopulation". I want to incorporate some lines from your post and also include some of mine (in the Indian context). I may also translate them in Indian languages. Thanks in advance. Salome. Suv

... thanks for your awareness, your work and your leadership, Rod. It is indeed in our own hands: we can undo what we have done and the help of all good willing humans is needed. For American citizens among us, a reminder: in addition to the FIGU related petition on overpopulation and birth control of Future of Mankind ( http://www.futureofmankind.co.uk/Billy_Meier/Special:Petition ), the CFH has recently also launched a more 'regular' petition at 'change.org': http://www.change.org/petitions/view/overpopulation_awareness_birth_control This petition targets specifically the US House of Representatives and could only be signed/directly supported by American citizens. However, one would notice, that many non-US citizens managed to record their signatures. I did some inquiry on this matter and one of those non-US supporters revealed to me, that he did the following: he selected 'FL' (florida) as his state and indicated a random zip code, which he found here: http://www.mongabay.com/igapo/zip_codes/FL.htm When he was done, he then clicked on 'edit your signature' and replace the fictional Florida data with his own - he is from Australia. Well, what one won't do for Mother Earth...:-) Thank you all. Salome, Adam - www.thecircleforhumanity.net |

*** Best Greetings All Fellow OMEDAM, In the further interest of the campaign against the Overpopulation of the Earth Humans, there are additional means to bring awareness to the problem and proposed solutions. And after all, it is SOLUTIONS we want the people to consider. This additional means is by the writing of letters and papers to many and various magazines. Here then, I bring your attention to a very well written paper recently published by our member Phenix = Adam Izak-Sunna. Further to declare, the publication appears in one of the most prestigious magazines = Science. I will add this is a singular Honor for Adam. His paper is available in the online version of Science at this link: http://www.sciencemag.org/sciext/eletters/#13272 Moderators, please allow the direct link, as this represents an area of interest for all members of FIGU in the Campaign Against Overpopulation. Thank You. Anyone who wishes to purchase this issue of Science for posterity &c, look for Science's Special Issue on Food Security (12 February 2010, pp. 797–834), which may be found at better newsstands everywhere. So to say, a new path is shown for promoting the essential awareness among people. It is an idea we all may use = to write to the many editors of the respectable publications around the world. Congratulations Adam, for a work well done. In Peace Salome *** ~~ TRUTH finds WISDOM finds LOVE finds PEACE -- Find What You Seek ~ Rod
