Reflecting on Maya keeps me up at night. I toss and turn and lay awake trying to not think about how reality itself is a contrived storyline.

We believe in a contrived history. We accept the boundaries of a contrived world with its contrived limits. Our technological base is contrived, our culture is contrived, our environment is contrived: this is very definition of a contrived society. Knowing our past is contrived, and our current situation is contrived, how can I not but expect that our future is also contrived? Indeed, reality itself is a contrived storyline.

What do we really want? To be happy? To appreciate beauty? To experience the absolutely honest awareness of love grounded in the moment of now? This is what is just so simple, just, just simple to me, and yet the endlessly duplicitous innuendo of Maya persists.

I remember dieing. I remember the forthright depth of being completely certain. And I desperately want to recreate that in this life, my adopted home for a time.

This poem came to me this morning, thought I would share!

The Awakening

I have awakened
as my eyes are opened,
the sun streaming through the window
birds singing, the breeze blowing through the trees
I am conscious
when did all of this happen
It wasn't there yesterday
disturbing....
confusing....
heartbreaking....
yesterday there was peace, balance, universal love
when did this happen
raping and degradation of our world, of ourselves,
racial and religious hatred
when did this happen, how long
I, like other, did not see
I try to shake others
LOOK
LOOK
see what we are doing?
alone, I try to find others
the awakened
to heal the destruction, to create balance, to open eyes
there is no going back
I am changed
I am AWAKENED

Hope you all like it! Wanted to say more but thought less was better, just describes the conflicts of have inside!

"When you came to me , I really needed you ; me and my peers , we were the rough bunch ."

..... from Merlin's Lament.

Merlin was in a position of astute responsibilty with Arthur , his protoge as a youth , now taking the countryside in an aggresive stormlike wartroop campaign .His small army of self serving thugs were feared by all they approached .

Attacks of existential angst have differing flavors. I only notice this because I have been noticing how the need to understand how my own existential everness is evolving, even as it gnaws at me from the inside.

Everything seems so familiar to me, as if I been on this same path for so long. I look ahead of me and the path recedes unbounded into the horizon, I look behind me and the path is equally long.
Forever is a long time.

I look around me, the perpetual tourist I am, and all I see are people who don't know they are dead to life, just as by circumstance have I taken up this demeanor. All I have to experience is this now, this ever changing now, yet I am pinned by (a non-existent) obligation to an unchanging here. I walk this path because that is all there is to do - to make the path better.

Step by step,
breath by breath,
moment by moment
I am here, now
forever.

I am forever naked in front of you,
with only the slightest hint of love
to keep me afloat in a whirlpool of the recycling patterns of life.

I wish I had someone to share this sense of infinity with,
but then would it be an unlimited sense no longer?

Where We Came From
by Melissa Swem

I was once a lover, a hater, a mother and a father,
a baby, an elder, a brother and a daughter.

I've sinned, I've cheated, I've lied and I've stole,
I've married, I've helped, I've fit many a good role.
I've killed, I've suffered, I've died many times,
I've cried, I have laughed, I've written musical rhymes.

I'm evolving you see, one life at a time,
I'm learning by choice from mistakes that are mine.
I cannot complain, I can't disagree,
I'm a perfect creation, evolving to me.

We've all done the same, for here we all are,
living as such on a far distant star,
to learn about life, love and creation,
currently acting as children, trying to build a great nation.

We will learn real peace, when we are all grown up,
and remember the way we used to act so corrupt,
but we dare not degrade, not even a thought,
to the newly evolved, for we have not forgot,
where we came from.

-Melissa

Ohh goody! A thread/forum that we can show our Artistic abilities. I have written a few Poems and some song lyrics here and there. I also believe that Poetry comes from the heart and a great form of Therapy. *smiles*

Lately I've been humming to a song from the Carpenters called 'top of the world'. But in saying this, I'm actually a huge Elvis fan.
Don't be afraid to let your inner strength guide you. Live it, but don't fear it, love it, but don't lose it. Take care of it, and always keep it next to you. - Orphelia . *smiles*

Stark realty of being here washes over me yet again.
I slip and let myself fall into the comfortable dark
and fall and fall and fall,
my self receding, absorbing a black void as I allows my self to die.
Then I open my eyes when i can die no more,
and the stark reality of being here washes over me yet again.

Only one question forms in my mind:
Why do I still exist?

But the question remains

For the reasoned 'belief' in extraterrestrials I have given up so much: family, friends, opportunities, respect. It is an injury fostered by a million small prejudicial cuts which aches, especially at night while I dream, reminding me of how unwanted my perspective is. Slowly, slowly, so slowly will this Earth hopefully come around, and until then it has some maturing to do.

Just how real needs be this injury, just how much may I let it go? For myself alone, I am the same as I ever was, the same as I always will be. I am happy, but not of this world. It's almost as if everyone remembers each of those small cuts, and demands of me that I do as well. Perhaps this world has molded my place in its scheme, and does not want me to move so freely about the socio-psychic landscape, but I am alive, and with an easy absolution do I move forward.

I feel the roots of my self reach deep, beyond life's horizon. I am alive, even when growing so slowly, and it feels good.

Michael,
This is beautiful....
Thank you and be aware there are others as you, unable to share with unready ones who someday, maybe not in their current personality or the next, will also learn and become wiser. Their time will also come.

As for us... the scars from all the little cuts just make us stronger...

Merlin's Lament
© 2010 Mark E. Campbell

When you came to me , I really needed you .
Me and my peers , we were the rough bunch.
When you gave to me the sword of justice , that lightning sabre
to cut through the darkness .
Oh , how I turned on you , Keridwena .

You were a golden child , sent from who knows where ....
Me , the " Laughing One" , in the Wilderness .
Oh, how I used you , and your good natured ways .
You came to instruct me in the old ways .
Oh, how I turned to you , and what you could do for me .
I took that Sword of Lightning , and turned it over to the 'Boar of Cornwall '.
Oh, how I turned on you , Keridwena .

When you came to me at the Grail , that sacred spring , where I
sealed that 'cup of wisdom' into a cauldron .
I taught so patiently , to that bloody war king ; to whom life
meant nothing , who rejected everything .
Oh, how I enstranged you , and your sweet stellar ways .
Oh , where have you gone , to rightly forsake me ?
I really used you , Keridwena .

Read the source material here . Many thanks to 'Billy' Eduard Albert Meier , Ptaah , and the KG49 .

Hi Mark...

Would agree: beautiful lyrics.

Even the Spirit(ual) Teaching(s) have very beautiful and adoring words of
Knowledge and Wisdom, which can be beautifully be incorporated into a
magnificent music piece; I thought of this many times as I read the
mentioned. Is as if, when reading it: it IS literally MUSIC to the ears!

Interpreting, the Words into MUSIC....

Give us a call....when/if you have a specimen?

Edward.
