I have been thinking about getting a meditation bench. I still would like to slowly ease myself in getting used to lotus but I do agree. The bench may help a lot. I did have plans for the construction of the bench which many people are using, but I will have to look for them ... Matcha Member Post Number: 43 Registered: 02-2021 Posted on Monday, January 10, 2022 - 06:50 pm:        I found the most comfortable and easiest way to arrive at the full lotus position was to start with the half lotus, or if that too is too difficult just to start with the way westerners often sit cross legged with knees somewhat raised. At the beginning and end of the meditation session just pressing down on the knees a few times to gradually loosen the joints helps a lot. Chris Peace in wisdom be on Earth and among all creatures. My left foot seems to be the one that goes completely numb when in lotus. Probably because it's the foot that is tucked under. Surprisingly, my right foot, which has metal plates in the ankle, doesn't get numb at all. It just gets a bit stiff.
