Greetings, Michael, The following links could be helpful: - http://www.treehugger.com/files/2009/04/climate-change-deniers-own-scientists-said-global-warming-was-real.php ('Climate change Deniers'Own Scientists Said Global Warming Was Real') Briefly: "A few years after climate change denier the Global Climate Coalition began lobbying against doing anything about climate change their own scientific advisors told them that global warming was real." [...] - http://www.newscientist.com/article/dn11462-climate-change-a-guide-for-the-perplexed.html ('Climate change: A guide for the perplexed' by Michael Le Page) Briefly: "Our planet's climate is anything but simple. All kinds of factors influence it, from massive events on the Sun to the growth of microscopic creatures in the oceans, and there are subtle interactions between many of these factors. Yet despite all the complexities, a firm and ever-growing body of evidence points to a clear picture: the world is warming, this warming is due to human activity increasing levels of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere, and if emissions continue unabated the warming will too, with increasingly serious consequences." [...] - http://www.care2.com/news/member/194727002/1234699 ('Sierra Club: Global Warming Deniers Are At It Again') Briefly: "The US Chamber of Commerce is threatening to sue the EPA for accepting that climate change is real." Hello Michael, hope you are well I am just copying and pasting this information from post number 52 that I uploaded in 2007. It may not be what exactly you want but it will reinforce what Billy has been saying for many years and indeed what many climate scientists indirectly confirm. I hope this article is of interest to you. ________________________ I came across an interesting article from a well respected peer reviewed scientific journal “Science” which I believe is read by many scientists in the USA. The article is entitled… “BEYOND THE IVORY TOWER: The Scientific Consensus on Climate Change”. http://www.sciencemag.org/cgi/content/full/306/5702/1686 In the article a search was completed for submitted work (which was independently reviewed by other scientists and experts in their fields) directly relating to keywords “Climate Change” in the ”abstract” and “keywords” between the years 1993 and 2003. What they found was 928 articles, approximately a quarter of the articles were related to past/ancient climate paleoclimate change which remained neutral as to current climate change. We are then left with approx 700 scientific reviewed articles stating that anthropogenic causes is the biggest factor for our current climate change, none of the 700 scientific articles disagreed with this point. In other words terrestrial humans are the single biggest contributing factor towards climate change. Quote: “This analysis shows that scientists publishing in the peer-reviewed literature agree with IPCC, the National Academy of Sciences, and the public statements of their professional societies. Politicians, economists, journalists, and others may have the impression of confusion, disagreement, or discord among climate scientists, but that impression is incorrect”. Salome Mike |

Also on the "The Great Global Warming Swindle" Channel 4 documentary: http://www.medialens.org/alerts/07/0313pure_propaganda_the.php "Eight of the scientists in the film - John Christy, Paul Reiter, Richard Lindzen, Paul Driessen, Roy Spencer, Patrick Michaels, Fred Singer and Tim Ball - are linked to American neo-conservative and right-wing think-tanks, many of which have received tens of millions of dollars from Exxon. Greenpeace provides a fascinating online ’map’ detailing how Exxon funds these climate sceptics. Go to: http://www.exxonsecrets.org/ index.php?mapid=831 " David

Gerne geschehen, Michael. Here again, fresh from the press and to the point:-) http://globalwarming.change.org/blog/view/how_to_fail_at_climate_change_journalism [...]"about how environmentalists are coping with oil lobby tactics for defeating climate policy reform this year. The article focused in particular on the lobbies' efforts to fend off establishment of a carbon dioxide emissions cap, as well as a market for trading carbon emissions credits -- both included in the House-passed climate and energy bill."[...] Salome. |

The hard reality of daily life. A call for responsibility. The Starving Ocean: How Much Damage Has Human Fishing Done To The Ocean? "We thought we could fish forever, because the sea was a limitless protein mine. But dawning now is a realization that we were wrong about that. But how naive were we? And what price will be paid? Ocean life is dying back in unexpected ways: although there are fewer fish and other sea animals, more of them are starving, while waves of 'sickness' spread as primitive microbes gain the upper hand."[...] http://www.fisherycrisis.com/ We won't dare say, we didn't know! An earthquake shook Venezuela - and check this out: "The U.S. Geological Survey said the epicenter was 23 miles north-northeast of Puerto Cabello, one of the OPEC nation's main oil ports. It was below the sea at a depth of 6.2 miles." http://www.reuters.com/article/newsOne/idUSTRE58B1WU20090913 |

Greeting the forum and our moderators, This one hit Yahoo front page awhile ago: Doctors warn of 'world catastrophe' A failure to tackle climate change will lead to a "global health catastrophe", leading doctors have warned. Briefly: "But taking steps to cut the world's carbon emissions, such as eating less meat and switching to cleaner energy, will have benefits for people's health, an editorial published in both the Lancet and British Medical Journal (BMJ) said. And in a letter accompanying the editorial, medical chiefs in the UK, Ireland and around the world called on doctors to put pressure on politicians meeting in Copenhagen in December in a bid to secure a new global deal on cutting emissions." [...] http://uk.news.yahoo.com/21/20090916/tuk-doctors-warn-of-world-catastrophe-6323e80.html We have got to do something about all this; we can not sit back and contemplate how our world, this wonderful planet, is literally falling apart. Despite decades old comprehensive warnings. Salome. |

Global warming is being experienced on many fronts already, yet how many people out there know its veracity? Here is a link to a clip of a Dust Storm in Australia. Another storm engulfed Sydney and then blew further north to Queensland was seen on the news. The night before here in Melb. I felt a very mild explosion like noise which woke me up at 2 am. BTW, there are a few clips on You Tube to other places in the world experiencing the same scary scenarios of dust storms. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=95tmYmeHf84 If I may suggest something: the much popularized Copenhagen meeting is nearing and I have not heard any mention of the most pressing issue that being of Over Population. A while back i took the liberty and wrote to Ban ki Noon who is the Secretary General of the UN and expressed this urgent issue. Obviously I heard nothing back. I have written to many others prominent people in different departments in various institutions and I am sure that they have at least read my extract that I sent from C. Frehner long article and are contemplating its full dire consequences. My suggestion is this: people here may want to write and express their concerns addressing them to the various people who will be speaking at the congress and maybe our letters will create the ripples that will create waves of change? One way is to type in a search engine "Copenhagen Climate Congress", then choose the most prominent names and email them. Can I say " Yes, we can"? |

Greeting the moderators and all members, Dear friends, I am taking the liberty to call to you here. It appeared, that a ritual slaughter of dolphins is being planned in November, in the Faroe Islands. See here: Stop The Bloody Tradition Of The Faroe Islands http://www.thepetitionsite.com/petition/557550806 Briefly: "This petition has been created to target to the horrible bloody practice, which is still taking place in the heart of the European Union and which belongs to the middle ages but not to the modern society. Every November inhabitants of Faroe Islands* come to the sea to teach their sons to kill. The subject of this millennium tradition, aimed to make men out of boys, are confiding and very human-friendly dolphins - 1500 animal units every year. We feel confident, that such cruelty towards the fauna is absolutely unacceptable in the 21.th century in the face of the massive damages of the civilization."[...] I thought, this barbaric practice must be stopped. Your help would be greatly appreciated. Salome. |

That is brutal. The petition is signed, but isn't there something more that can be done? 36.The human is another person, when, surrounded by the rays of the heavenly creational sunrise, the pure delight of awakening nature streams through him.

Good day, Sanjin, Thanks for stepping in. I am not quite sure of what one could further do. We are giving the word forward; we have alerted the Whale and Dolphin Conservation Society, the Humane Society USA, Greenpeace, plus a couple of green and environment-friendly political parties and groups, here in The Netherlands. Of course, it would help if members here could do the same locally and internationally. Salome, Adam. |
