Dear Forum Members,

There will be a one month delay in posting the answers to your questions in the Questions to Billy section. Christian informed me Billy has a severe cold and was unable answer everyone's questions. We all wish Billy a speedy recovery.

Hello Everyone,

Although most of you might have problems with German, it seems still worthwhile mentioning it on the forum. FIGU Switzerland has opened a new chapter in their IT projects.

Yesterday the first broadcast of “FIGU-Audio” was published on the website. It is all in German, and would be useful for the people learning German to practice listening.

Dear Forum Members,

It has been agreed between the moderators that starting from 1st of June all non-FIGU Related topics will be closed temporarily. This decision has been made for different reasons, but mainly to get back the focus on FIGU Related issues as this was the main goal of the forum.

All posts that are not directly related to issues or published materials of FIGU will not be approved until further notice.

Anyone wanting to write about other non-related issues can create another forum, or join other groups that discuss the other topics.

PS: All closed topics will include the the word blocked

Hello Everyone,

If some of you have noticed some of your posts are not getting posted. This is because for one I find many posts make no reference to the topic heading in which they are posted. Secondly, this forum is not about each other, but about Billy and the mission. Everything seems to have gotten personal amongst certain individuals, which is not the purpose of this forum. While its true everyone has an ego, there seems to be a loss of objectivity and neutrality in varying degrees in my opinion. Please lets stick to the topics and keep the discussions pertinent.

Thank you

Dear Forum Members:

While I don’t claim to be a language “expert”, I have noticed a trend in which certain forum members have been getting into the habit of capitalizing nouns within their posts. Please stop doing this. After looking over the English FIGU Website and other FIGU approved translations, I have not observed this. Hence, the other moderators and I feel those who post on the FIGU Forum should adhere to those same standards.

Thank you

Hello,

Could everyone please make an effort to stick to the topic heading. I find so many posts which don't even mention the topic heading. Myself and the other moderators do not have time to continually remind people of this. I don't think people want their posts denied, and we try to give everyone a chance, but it seems no one even pays attention to where their posting and why. It would be a great help. Thank you.

Hello Everyone,

Recently we updated the guidelines and policies of the forum.
You can find it by following the link http://forum.figu.org/cgi-bin/us/discus.cgi?pg=instructions#rules

Rules and "Netiquette"

Welcome to the English FIGU Forum! We would appreciate it if you could spend a few minutes reading the below guidelines and policies, as being a member of the forum you must agree to follow them.

1. Members must post in a way that is respectful of other members. Be civil, be sincere, be coherent in your posts, no flaming, no trolling. Members should avoid posting comments that could cause offense or be generally construed as objectionable in content or tone. Posts of this nature will not be tolerated. Some degree of good humour is always welcome; it helps to keep the fundamentalists and fanatics at bay.
2. It is advised to use the search function prior to posting any questions, as there are many topics, issues and questions discussed in the past years.
3. The forum was created to discuss the publications and topics relating to FIGU, and the ideas and comments of forum members may contain errors and therefore not accurately reflect the original FIGU material. Thus, unless otherwise stated, FIGU cannot guarantee the information posted by the forum members.
4. Remember that this forum is for a large group of people, with the interest of studying FIGU material. Members must avoid imposing their own ideas or theories on the group.
5. Abuse of the forum is not permitted. Examples include such things as posting copyrighted material without permission, advertising, lobbying and creating activist groups without FIGU's approval first, prescribing or advising on medical related problems, excessive unsubstantiated disagreements. However, a healthy disagreement or criticism is always welcome. Information or images taken elsewhere must accompany mention of the source.
6. Posts containing text or images made by members other than yourself must not be posted or published elsewhere without their direct consent.
7. Translations posted on the forum should be referenced to include the name of the person who translated it, and/or mention the source if from a book or pamphlet. Only short translated sentences are permitted to be posted on the forum, and are part of a discussion.
8. Posts should always be posted in relevant topics and related to the FIGU material. Members are asked to read the topic descriptions before posting.
9. All Posts should be consistent with normal writing, written in a coherent, readable format and must make sense. Excessive use of emoticons, large text, capitalized text, punctuation or coloured texts should be avoided.
10. Posting links to other publications or articles without discussing it and relating it to the FIGU information will not be posted. Links outside of FIGU websites and affiliates must not be active links.
11. The moderating team reserves the right to edit or remove any post at any time. The determination of what to edit or remove, or what is construed as indecent, vulgar, offensive, spam, etc. is up to moderators and not users.
12. We will not pass on or trade any personal information to third parties. But the information such as email may be used by the moderators for correspondence purposes only.
13. Every user must provide an active email address. If the emails becomes inactive, the username will be deactivated.
14. If usernames are chosen that are not real names, appropriate terms should be chosen.

If anything that occurs in this forum that disturbs you, please report it to one of the Moderators http://forum.figu.org/cgi-bin/us/board-contact.cgi.

Lastly, a reminder: Any posts submitted which do not meet the above guidelines will be rejected by moderators; any posters who become repeat offenders will be banned from the forum.

Dear Forum Members,

I know there has been much unrest amongst people regarding the postings of Matthew Deagle. Matthew has been a member of this forum for at least 3 years. During this time I will have to say the majority of responses I receive via e-mail or from members of the forum have been negative in regards to Matthews’s behavior and ideas as he has presented them on this forum. While I have attempted to be fair and allow many of his postings, it was recently pointed out to me, that I was not being fair to other members of the forum as well in allowing his posts to stand. While there have been comments as to whether Matthew’s writing style and theories were designed deliberately to create disharmony and or disinformation is unknown to me. Whether intentional or not the result has become self evident. Based on these results, the only conclusion left is to terminate Matthew’s membership to the FIGU Forum indefinitely. I have thought about this in great length, and it seems in order to preserve the integrity and stability of the mission and function of this forum no other choice is offered.

Thank you

Dear Forum Members,

In the near future we will have a new moderator who will assist in moderating the FIGU English Forum. Robyn Foley (Indi) has been approved by the Core Group of 49. She will begin her duties once she has been briefed on some of the various steps involved in using the discussion software. She is a Passive Member and will be a welcome partner in helping myself and Badr with the Forum.

Dear Forum members,

We moderators have been asked to inform and warn you all about something that happened on the German Forum recently. I have included both German and English.

Heute morgen wurde der Forumszugang eines Benutzers missbraucht. Man hat dessen Kennwort erraten und dann unter dessen Namen u.a. unsinnige Beiträge gepostet.

Recently the account access of a user was misused. Another person was able to guess a password and then misused the user's name and account to publish nonsensical postings, among other things.

How can such a thing happen? Very simply: When a user created a very simplistic password that can be guessed very easily - by performing several attempts, or by using specialised software.

*Deshalb:* Wählt bitte sichere Kennwörter, die mindestens 8, besser 10 Zeichen lang sind, Zahlen sowie Gross- und Kleinschreibung enthalten und keine erkennbare, sprachliche Konstruktion enthalten.

Therefore: Choose a secure password, at least 8, but better 10 characters long. The password should not display any ordered structure, like a word etc., and it should utilize capital and small letters.

Schlechte Beispiele: Hund, Katze, 26.5.1577, FIGU usw.

Bad examples: Dog/hound, cat, 04.13.1987, FIGU, John777, Semjase, etc.

Gute Beispiele: F7M0WpzFaF, C2VREJyxvp, hWb5jKKsqT

Good examples: see above.

Any technology-based security measures are useless if a person works sloppily when creating a password. All forum users are firmily requested to immediately replace an insecure password with a secure one.
If it should turn out that another password is misused, the account in question will be blocked for an unlimited period.

Hello All ~

There has been some discussion about FIGU Society USA and FIGU groups in general in the forum lately. I'd like to direct you to the FIGU Society USA web site where three articles on group-related concepts and advice have been installed. You will find links to the articles in the News and Latest Site Updates area of the Home Page.

Whether or not you have an interest in FIGU Groups, the articles can provide sound insight on general group life concerns and the challenges inherent in working with others.

Dear Forum Members, I have added a new topic which can be found here:

The Spiritual Teaching » Creational Laws and Commandments » LAW OF LOVE

The purpose of this topic is to discuss the Law of Love, from the perspective that is provided by the writings of Billy Meier and Figu. Important aspects are recognizing the difference between affective and effective love and how to work towards or cultivate 'effective' love.

I have copied some posts by Jacob into this section, that are a good summary of the Law of Love and I urge you all to refer to these and any other sources in the material for correct understanding of this Law. Any further discussions on this Law, and its meaning etc. if in this section will allow for more focus on this important subject.

Dear Forum Members,

In the section The Spiritual Teaching, the closed thread 'Spiritual Terminology' has undergone its first minor overhaul.
The post 'Spiritual Terminology' has the topic heading:
"List containing Spiritual, consciousness-related, fine-material and course-material terminology directly related to the Spirit teaching (Geisteslehre)"

The second post will be exclusively containing the natural-creative laws, recommendations, principles, rules, etc. which are directly related to the Spirit teaching.
Salome,
Jacob

Dear Forum members,

We have seen an increasing number of posts in which people are attacked on a personal basis.
It is fine if you disagree with someone, then just make your arguments why you disagree, but dont attack the person who is disagreeing with you.
If one does not reach some sort of an understanding, then agree to disagree and let it rest.
From this point on ALL posts which contain personal attacks will be denied.

Once again forum members, we would like to post a reminder for people to avoid criticising posters and instead criticise what the poster has said - that which is disagreed with.

Criticising a poster leads to varied feelings that can lead to inflammatory reactionary posts. There is little to be gained from this form of communication.

If you disagree with something a poster has said, then make your post about what was said and not about the character or personality of the poster.

Posts will be rejected or deleted if they do not comply with this sentiment. The moderators reserve the right to reject or delete posts without explanation.

Thankyou all for your consideration of this matter.

Important notice to all forum members:

In September 2011, issues arose concerning copyright and FIGU material, as well as Forum posts etc. which were raised with Stephan
and Christian Frehner from FIGU. The moderators did not officially provide this information to the members of this forum at the
time, although attempts have been made over the time from then until now to stop people posting long translation segments, and even smaller ones which can border on unacceptable with regards to copyright and also to encourage the inclusion of referencing where applicable in forum posts.

At the time, we were given instruction as to what is acceptable and what is not with regard to use of FIGU material and including Forum posts as well as other people's translations. And so, we are passing this instruction onto all the members of this forum now.

This information is also relevant to those posts placed on Facebook, on people's individual walls, as well as in private groups within Facebook and should be duly noted by those members here who also utilise that and other social media sites. The monitoring of and dealing with all infringements is not within the capabilities of FIGU due to the immense volume of these, however, wherever possible, efforts should be made to comply with FIGU's request in this matter and we can as moderators only do our best to help the forum members learn this way of posting and utilising the FIGU material for the benefit of all and being in line with FIGU's copyright.

Stephan from CG49 FIGU writes:

"FIGU has two ways of telling others (Third Parties) how to use its works. Works are anything, from pictures over brochures, audio
recordings and whatnot.

1) Copyright (traditional way)
2) CC license ('free' way)

1) The traditional copyright forbids the usage of the work unless there's a given permission by the author. This covers all forms of usage:

redistribution, translation, Facebook postings, Forum postings. There really only one exception, where a copyrighted work can be used without permission: when small parts are quoted. Small parts are single sentences or two but not really more. Definitly not entire pages.

Also, the source needs to be named, the author and where/how the book is published and by whom (a.k.a. Full Reference).
*All works by FIGU and Billy are subject to the traditional copyright UNLESS NOTED OTHERWISE*

2) IF noted otherwise, the CreativeCommons (CC) license is used by FIGU. There is always a CC note somewhere near the work. There are many forms of it, but FIGU only uses one, the so called BY-NC-ND license. It allows anyone to copy, transmit and distribute the works WITHOUT asking the author, but ONLY if the following conditions are met:

- The author is named (BY)
- The work is not sold, even not to only cover expenses (NC = Non-commercial)
- The work is not altered (ND = no derivatives)
- The license is printed, displayed or named with the work

See also:
http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/2.5/ch/deed.en

As moderators, we have been instructed to "actively reject posts that violate those rules".

Re TRANSLATIONS, Stephan has offered this:

"Translations are NOT derivative works, as I thought. Instead, they are (by law) treated as NEW works and thus must be licensed/copyrighted freshly/separately. An example: Robyn translates a text of the BEAM portal. Thus, Robyn is the author of the translation. Since Robyn is the author, she must decide under which license/copyright her work is put under. Of course, it makes sense to use the same license as the original."

Also, translations of any of the German material from FIGU, whether being a small paragraph or a larger work must be accompanied by the origianl German, and the source must be provided so readers can find that reference at the source. E.g., Author, book name, page number, verse number (if applicable)

So, once again from the above information the moderators are instructed by FIGU that ...
"POSTS WHICH DO NOT RESPECT FIGU COPYRIGHT OR LICENSING MUST BE REJECTED".

It has been attempted over the years to encourage people to post summaries of something they have been reading, rather than copying and pasting from the original or from someone else's translation efforts which many do without even commenting on these copied excerpts which would make it a discussion piece being offered.

Therefore, it is encouraged that if one wants to post something about a small section from e.g., the spirit teaching or from one of the books from FIGU or from or about articles, it would be of much greater benefit for the poster to make a well considered comment as to why they are posting it and their thoughts on it as well. This then encourages thinking in the readers, and can inspire responses from others, leading to discussion of the presented topic - which is in fact the purpose intended for this forum in the first place, as a discussion arena for the teaching and material presented by FIGU.

These encouragements have not been acted upon as yet by many members here.

Re SUMMARIES

A summary does not require copyright permission, but DOES require a reference to the original with information showing:

-where the article or summary of a text was sourced from -Book or article name; and if from a website, then which website including the link
-Author of said book or article
-page number or numbers the summary was drawn from and verse numbers if from works containing these.
-if the summary is based on your own translation then you must mention this, and that it may contain errors.
-if summary based on someone else's translation then that author must be mentioned.

Example:
Summary of Article 'Was ist die Schöpfung' (What is the Creation?)
by Billy Meier
Source: http://www.figu.org/ch/geisteslehre/was-ist-die-schoepfung
Summary is based upon translation of the original german into English by Robyn Foley and it may contain errors.

or

Three golden rules - a summary in English
From the book 'Die Psyche' by Billy Meier
pps 85-88
Summary is based upon translation of the original german into English by Robyn Foley and it may contain errors.

The reasoning is simple, if this information is provided, then others can also go to the source or the original material, and for themselves
ascertain wether the summary provided by whomever, is indeed correct, or in line with what has been presented or simply to read the complete article or section being summarised.

Not only does this solve the copyright issues, but it also encourages the writer to understand the article or passage before sharing its contents with the members here on the forum and on other social media sites.

Also

Another reminder that one of the rules of this forum, is that no post is to be used elsewhere without express permission from the author of that post. If you write something, even if it is a question to Billy, and put your name to it, it is your work, and must be treated that way by others. So, please read that rule again regarding this and please remember it when posting elsewhere. If one cannot get permission, simply
placing a link to that post after describing its contents, would serve the same purpose, and bring people to the original source for viewing it without breaking the rules.

Rules 5,6,7 found here http://forum.figu.org/cgi-bin/us/discus.cgi?pg=instructions#rules}

Information or images taken elsewhere

must accompany mention of the source.

In summary:
What does not require copyright information to be included are:

-small parts from the material, one or two sentences or small paragraphs
-Summaries of parts and articles etc.

Additionally:

-German original must accompany a translation
-Translator's name must be included and disclaimer re containing errors

Dear Forum Members

There seems to be some concern regarding the Questions to Billy Topic Area. This section opens up when I receive the answers from Billy via Christian. Generally this happens towards the end of each month. Sometimes it happens on the last day, other times a few days before unfortunately I can not be more precise. I usually post the answers within one day after I receive them. As I have said many times before it is up to each member who wishes to post his/her question to watch the forum 3-4 days before the end of the month. It was suggested to leave the section open, but after further discussion this was considered not to be the most feasible idea. Sometimes if members have questions concerning the material, they may ask other forum members, who may be able to assist them. Additionally, I encourage members to be clear and to the point with their questions, so no misunderstandings occur during the translation from English to German.

Thank you
Salome

Dear Forum Members

The "Questions to Billy" Topic area will not open until the end of June. Billy was unable to with Christian this month due to the annual Passive Meeting being held at the SSSC.

Dear Forum Members,

I received the following note from Christian today:

"Due to Billy's heart surgery two weeks ago - he got an artificial heart valve - he has to slow down with his work for some weeks.
Therefore, yesterday night we did not sit together and answer the forum questions from April. I hope that answering them will be possible in July."

Thank you everyone for your patience.

Dear Forum Members,

Per Christian "This month - again - there will be no Q&A with Billy. He's still recovering from the operation and takes it slowly. He said that he will go back to normal in August - if nothing unexpected occurs."

Dear Forum Members,

Christian spoke with Billy last night and Billy is still not feeling well. Possibly next month the Questions to Billy section will re-open. If I hear anything further, I will surely pass it on.

Thank you again for your patience.

Dear Forum Members,

Billy's recovery has taken longer than anticipated, therefore it has been decided that it would be best to delay opening the "Questions to Billy" topic area until after the first of the year. Hopefully this additional time will be enough to allow for his complete recovery.

Salome and thank you for your patience

Dear Forum Members,

Christian let me know the following today regarding Billy's health:
"Billy is better, and last week the correction process in the Center kitchen started anew. Next weekend I will ask him regarding the Q&A evenings."

If I hear anything further, I will let you know.

Dear Forum Members,

Christian informed me regarding the following:

"Yesterday evening Billy said that, for the time being, he does not continue answering questions from the English FIGU forum.
Should he decide (together with Ptaah) to continue with the answering he would let me know."

Dear Forum Members,

I have created a New Sub-Topic entitled "Discussions on World Governments and their Leaders and the Countries they represent.
This can be found under the "Planet Earth" Topic area. I felt this was needed and pertinent during these changing times.

Dear Forum Members, Please read the following Directive issued by the CG of 49:

At the GA of the CG49 from May 6, 2017 the directives – valid since February 16, 2003 – were specified, respectively updated. On the one hand they shall make sure that the forum concentrates on FIGU/mission-relevant discussions, in order to increase its attraction, and, on the other hand, shall serve as a decision guidance concerning the approval or rejection of posts.
Rules

- Only those persons may be accepted as registered users who provide complete address information. The moderators have to perform a plausibility check on the address data.
- The users may publish their post under an alias (which is also possible for moderators if needed)
- In all FIGU forums no political discussions are to be accepted, even when contact report extracts are published in the FIGU-Bulletins or Sonder-Bulletins, in which Billy or Ptaah etc. are explaining their opinions about world matters. Their conversations are personal clarifications as well as personal opinions, and in no wise political statements! Discussions about overpopulation are excluded, and such may absolutely be published and accepted in an informative form. Basically, only mission and spiritual teaching-related discussions are permitted.
- The moderators have to make sure that discussions of a certain topic do not wander to another.
- Posts, which do not clearly belong/match to a discussion topic, are rejected.
- Attacks and offence etc. on fellow-human beings, just as calls for unlawful actions and violence/Gewalt, are not tolerated.
- Links are only permitted if they are directing to the websites of FIGU groups (or other websites as listed at “www.figu.org > Links”). Any links to other than those websites are not accepted.
- Only short quotations are accepted, and these must contain precise source information (book title, page number, ...).
- Users shall make it short in their posts (we do not accept posts of excessive length).
- Users who repeatedly want to publish posts which do not match a topic, and/or who try to disseminate conspiracy theories, are banned after two rebukes.

As a result of these new directives the following topics will be closed until further notice:

-Poetry, music and art
-Pyramids
-Plejaren information about health, disease and the human body
-Plejaren Antigravity Technology
-Complaints About the Pleiadians / Plejarans
-The High Council in Andromeda
-Questions to Billy Submitted for Peer Review

Dear Forum Members,

Reading the many posts which members share, it is obvious that a considerable number of members to the FIGU Forums are highly intelligent and well read with regards to many topics. Understandably, there is a need to want to share this knowledge/information with others and to create a dialogue to expound upon these ideas with the intent of coming to a consensus about the reality of a given conclusion and or to pursue a logical progression of ideas leading to a fundamental truth. With that being stated there are a few posts in the queue now which although well written etc.... are not tied into the topic for which they appear. Please remember the following which was stated within the "New Directives" - Posts, which do not clearly belong/match to a discussion topic, are rejected. -

Thank you
