When we were babies, saw each other’s face Our time had come to … join the human race I watched you closely in your mama’s arms First grins and burps and farts, turnin’ on the charms If there’s such a thing as love at first sight I fell in love with you that very first night They say in life, true love comes just once And I tried to tell you with my baby grunt When we were three, I saw you one more time Pretended all day that you were mine Playing ‘Kissy Face’ and sittin’ in the sand Hand in hand, we chased the Boogie Man Then a man came and said ‘it’s Judgment Day’ One more time your parents carried you away As my heart broke, I finally understood I didn’t like that thing they called ‘adulthood’ A summer camp, a ranch, we were teens Time had changed so many things I heard you fell in love with a woman [man] And now you’ll place a ring on her [his] left hand Time passed, the baby came just the other day And you could hardly wait till Baby learned to play Diapers, kindergarten, the end of school days Baby told you camp starts again in May It’s the hardest thing you ever had to do Watching your own child … trying on YOUR shoes It’s the hardest thing you ever had to try Teach them how to laugh when all they did was cry We weren’t forgotten as time passed on Boogie Man came back, World War at dawn Thousand miles distance, my life came to an end I wanted to say … you were always my friend So when you’re old, look at the moon Images in your mind, tears will come soon Buckets full might completely fill your eyes As you think of loves, you had to tell good-bye How many lives in space, you face so sad and long Memories flooding back as you wait for dawn If my face in your mind caused one tear to dew Then in your smallest tear I’ll know you loved me too It’s the hardest thing … reach out your baby hand Had to do … learn to love again There’s no alone … in love grip tight Gonna love you … all of my life Don’t be afraid … to take them by the hand And to teach them … the meaning of Man All children learn to walk a mile in Mama’s shoe Saalome gam naan ben uurda, gan njjber asaala hesporoon(a) I wrote this song for my son. He's now a teenager and sings himself to sleep singing it. "The opposite of a correct statement is a false statement. But the opposite of a profound truth may well be another profound truth."

thank you edward, here's a pome from a few years back... the following poems are songs i wrote, most of which i have recorded into music. if you enjoy my word craft, then i am sure you will find these to be nice aswell the sound that blossomed was the sound of my broken dreams pieces i discarded into the gentle rays of the morning sun i burned a thousand times while waking to the crumbling dream the image of my self relfected in the tear drops of a long since dissapated cloud washes away the dirt and a brilliant jewel casts it's red shadow upon me bathed in crimson the ebbing flow of hysteria quietly stirs inside me to the forest i run and become lost in a labrynth of dreams light of tomorrow shine your rays on me stars of the night sky tune me to your eternal harmony in the madness my spirit endures ravaging all obstacles the power of my view allowed me to see far into my future never fearing tomorrow, under the light i blossom in a splendor of vigour. ------------------------------ CASTAWAY castaway... into sorrow castaway... into pain castaway... into the shining memory i hear him calling to me from another time he was a gypsy from the stars who found his history on the oceans of mars praying for bloodshed in a time of intrigue, he stood like a killer dressed in silk like a mother without milk come dance the dance of cloak and dagger this body runs this body staggers, come dance the dance of regret and shame walk to the light like a moth to a flame search for the reason for never knowing why never knowing what it means to live or understanding what it means to die, hide from the truth the truth you try to find accept the truth the truth you deny i felt a familiar feeling i was awake when dreaming of a land lush and green a familiar face a distant past calling to me atop the candle of wax a thin flame falls to his back in the rain he flickers in the rain he whispers, light of life descends darkness of despair recedes generate spiritual energy (no religeon no faith) inhale knowledge exhale wisdom (glory of the cosmos) --------------------------------- THE VOICE from a floating doorway along the edge of a forest in the dream a woman dressed in white approached she extended her hand to me i find myself awakening in the strangest hours of the night watching stars take flight -the voice sang to me softly saying "i love you" an image of a woman appeared as i drew back the curtain a distant light drew near "let it go for now"... i heard her say- images of strangers flicker in my mind when i close my eyes i awaken in another place and time memories come to me fragmented and few pictures worth a thousand words a truth i wish i knew a blue light shone upon my eyes from a point of darkness that flashed in the sky, my thoughts flooded with visions i wanted to know more... and as i swam away the night rose and withered far into the day -------------------------------------------- THE WOMAN DRESSED IN THE WHITE ROBE in the doorway i see her shine in this dream i had seen what i could not find without sound a thousand words she speaks without ground she stands firm, among my shaken beliefs who was i before i became who i am where was this life that now sleeps within the sand? the feeling of knowing you from some place and time your eyes i see clearly but to this truth i am still blind |

Billy and Quetzal or Ptaah discussed that the type of music a person listen to depends on the personality of that person. Now, I quitted praying to an imaginary god and now I know that no creator or tin god exist. Somehow,I still listen to religious music that is calming to me eventhough I don't follow any religion. Can someone please explain this? |

Marbar, I enjoy Christmas music even though I know there's no Santa Clause or Jesus. If it's calming to you then don't worry about what type of music it is and enjoy it. |

Marbar; Regardless of the type of music anyone listens too, emotions are evoked by the person themselves from within. For example, ever come across someone who says, "Oh I hate that song". Well, it is not the song that the person hates. But instead, it is because the song has recalled or "triggered" a connection to a chemically stored memory inside the human brain and if accessed may also contain the associated emotional response that is bound to that particular song. The same can be said for food. There are some people whom succumb to substitution of food for emotional comfort when faced with difficult times in their lives, and depending on their ability to resist such misplaced guidance may very well inhibit their ability to seek proper counsel and therefore allow themselves to "set" habits/patterns that can affect their health. Sadly the same be said for alcohol and drugs/prescriptions as well. It is there that through one's own experiences by means of sight, sound, taste, and touch are the memories that are created, acknowledged (positively or negatively), and are stored in the brain to form a unique personality in every human being, which at any moment can be triggered by any one of our senses. Although the link below is not in line with the mission, But I will how ever say that this a interesting video just goes to show how easy we as humans can be influenced by the smallest of details. Hi Marbar.... Even I...am not associated with any Cult Religion what-so-ever, but...still enjoy: Black Gospel Music! Loved it ever since I made acquaintance with it when I lived in the USA, as a child. Thus: I still enjoy it. There is just so much Swing in it...it can not be ignored. Edward. |

I went to the Indian town of Varanasi in my childhood, which was and still is the hotbed of Hindu religious rituals and the whole city is dotted with temples and shrines. These temples hosted events where scores of men and women came together and sang devotional songs along with a lead singer. These songs were relayed all over the town using microphone at very low volumes in the misty dusk and dawns of the winter. It was wonderful going to sleep (trying to) listening to them and better waking up (trying to) listening to them. Now, when I think of it - the scene of scores of men and woman bending and swaying in a trance like state would surely seem to me as a bunch of cult members participating in a group hallucination and chanting ritual. Yet, I can vouch that I would still like what was being sung if it is presented t me in the same environment. "Jesus bleibet meine Freude" (BWV 147, Choral 10) by Bach is one of my favourite piece of composition even though it got so much of religious overtones. In the Indian state of West Bengal where I live, R. N. Tagore’s poetry have been converted into songs which I enjoy listening. Some say that these songs are expression of awe and appreciation of nature, love, life and death. Some say that these are appreciation of God's work and are devotional in nature. As long as the inner sense of harmony is in sync with what being listened to, the music would sound good. The higher the evolution, the finer the sense of beauty, harmony, etc. Salome. Suv

Some of the most stirring music I have heard comes from an artist named Karunesh. I have downloaded several of his albums from iTunes. The music is played on Sitar with drums, flutes, and female voices accompaniment. Every few minutes a small bell sounds to remind those in meditation to shift position. This music carries me into wonderful beautiful states of contemplation. This the address for Windows format: ---> http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3212 This is the address for MAC or PC 'puters: ---> http://www.apple.com/itunes/ Then look for Karunesh in Search. My favorite album is "Joy of Life" ~~ TRUTH finds WISDOM finds LOVE finds PEACE -- Find What You Seek ~ Rod

For the people who answered my question on my "post number 135", thank you. Now I can listen to the music I like without feeling like I'm part of some "religious cult". |

When actuality is so stark, so mute, it fills my being with empty longing for what must be. Then I flip into perceiving mere reality once again, unbidden. Actually is always less than a breath away, but so stark, so echoless, It reminds me that I don't even exist, and never have never will, and nothing matters. Then love laughs, no matter how empty the universe might be, love laughs, lightly, freely, joyously, love laughs. Love is always the way

****** Dear Jun, Greetings in Peace, Thank you for posting the Choir of the World. I felt "electrified" while listening. Though I could not understand the language, it was not necessary as the emotional content comes clearly -- Hope, Joy, and love of Life. Here is a little meditation bit from Karunesh. Maximize to see the progression of these beautiful Mandalas. ... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7jnQ_qAjy4E&feature=related

Greetings my friend Rod, Hope you noticed the absence of musical accompaniment except for the little bell and the short pieces of bamboo. Thank you for the image which I immediately downloaded and the video which I bookmarked for replays for later together with similar ones on the playlist. Jun My will be done |

Dear Forum members, I am not sure if any of you would like it. But its worth a try. Close your eyes in a dimly lit room and carefully listen to this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YyDU5QwSSRU This piece of music is called Shanti Mantra or hymns of peace performed by Ravi Shankar and his team. "Shanti" in Hindi/Sanskrit means "peace". The origin of this incantation are the Upanishads which are again elaborations and offshoots from the Vedas. The one in the music is mainly sourced from: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shanti_Mantra#Other_Sources The other version found in the wiki link are also interesting. (Note that "Brahman" means Creation). I have the version from LIVE performance at a Moscow concert. That one has more ambience in it. The album name is called "Inside the Kremlin". Salome. Suv

Greetings, What can you say for or against the lyrics of this song from the point of view of the Meier materials? Que Sera Sera When I was just a litte girl I asked my mother, what will I be Will I be pretty, will I be rich Here's what she said to me. CHORUS Que Sera, Sera, Whatever will be, will be The future's not ours to see Que Sera, Sera What will be, will be When I grew-up and fell in love I asked my sweetheart what lies ahead Will we have rainbows day after day Here's what my sweetheart said CHORUS Now I have children of my own They asked their mother, what will I be Will I be handsome, will I be rich I tell them tenderly CHORUS Que Sera, Sera Jun My will be done |

i had a dream of myself standing in a field infront of me was me as a child at the edge of a dense and darkend forest infront of the boy was a woman dressed in white skin like snow hair like sun behind her was a floating door she smiled lovingly and put out her hand but the boy that i was opted instead for the darkness and to the forest he ran a single tree in it, a heart like a ruby... to the left of the woods a steep hillside of soil ground along it ran a man dressed in brown as if fleeing from the woman in white a look of fear on his face a wingless bird in flight he hid under the edge of a cliff as he peeked above down shone a golden ray of light he ducked in fright as if hiding, hiding from the light ......................... i had a dream that i was an other man at first i watched him brown cloak brown flowing hair skin without a tan accompanied by three dwarfs he urgently ran to the foot of a giant tree a doorway carved as if it were someones home as he ran up carved steps within him i roam now his eyes were mine and atop the stairs a doorway shined the dawrf led me in and i seen a woman dressed in white i looked to the dwarf and he had a serious glare he urged me foreward and left me standing there the woman in white had skin like snow and hair like sun at her bedside i knelt on one i thought to myself "she must be dying" but there was only a smile of joy no tears or sounds of crying she drew me near as the dream began to disappear ............................... i had a dream that i emerged from the woods holding something wrapped in a brown blanket there the three familiar dwarves stood i dropped the item and off came the blanket to reveal a pale corpse he was familiar, yes ofcourse it was the man in brown the one that ran with such urgency the one who's eyes i looked with in that great magnificent tree with fear in there eyes the dwarves stared at me all of a sudden i found myself at a crossroad looked down all fourth paths then found myself running behind the dwarves the terror in there eyes the thought of a wolf flickered by we must have been chased by a beast then i realised the dwarves were running away from me. |

Its all in the nose. Everywhere we go, our nose leads the way. Everywhere we look, our nose looks first. The funny button on the front of our faces, Our nose sniffs out, twitches, tickles. How can anyone of us take ourselves seriously when everywhere we go, our nose goes first? Love is always the way
