"Behind the ostensible government sits enthroned an invisible government owing no allegiance and acknowledging no responsibility to the people. To destroy this invisible government, to befoul the unholy alliance between corrupt business and corrupt politics is the first task of the statesmanship of today." Theodore Roosevelt 1906

Of what good is it to be told that there is treasure hidden somewhere on an island without a map to guide you? Such a person as that who speaks of treasures and hidden wealth, yet offers no map to assist one in his search, is like one who has knowledge without understanding, or like one who thinks his understanding will cause the seeker to be less challenged. But how can that be? Though a map may lead you to treasure, still you will have to dig your way through to get at it.

Though I may judge, it is rather myself that I judge. For with every judgement I make, I realize my own imperfection and seek to perfect in myself the errors I observe. Thus what I hope to teach I hope also to learn and increase my understanding by arriving at new truths from the depths of old ones.

It is through my suffering that I write, and through my writing that I express my suffering.
And the more I express myself, the more I learn, the better I understand, the wiser I become.
And it is my wisdom that in the end shall save me from my suffering.

What does it mean to be creative? Like a flower stretching toward the sky, expanding in all directions, growing in the understanding of its own nature and attaining toward a beauty that is the blueprint of its own existence - that’s what it means to be creative.

“[I]t is the leaders of a country who determine the policy and it is always a simple matter to drag the people along, whether it is a democracy, or a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the peacemakers for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same in any country.” --Nazi Reichsmarschall Hermann Goering

“The most dangerous man, to any government, is the man who is able to think things out for himself... Almost inevitably, he comes to the conclusion that the government he lives under is dishonest, insane and intolerable.” - H.L. Mencken

Subject: meaning of life

On the first day God created the cow. God said, "You must go to the

field with the farmer all day long and suffer under the sun, have calves

and give milk to support the farmer. I will give you a life span of sixty

years."

The cow said, "That's kind of a tough life you want me to live for sixty

years. Let me have twenty and I'll give back the other forty."

And God agreed.

On the second day God created the dog.

God said, "Sit all day by the door of your house and bark at anyone who

comes in or walks past. I will give you a life span of twenty years."

The dog said, "That's too long to be barking. Give me ten years and

I'll give you back the other ten."

So God agreed (sigh).

On the third day God created the monkey.

God said, "Entertain people, do monkey tricks, make them laugh. I'll

give you a twenty year life span."

The monkey said, "How boring, monkey tricks for twenty years? I don't

think so. Dog gave you back ten, so that's what I'll do too, okay?"

And God agreed again.

On the fourth day God created man (who was directly or implicitly in the mind

of God all along.)

God said, "Eat, sleep, play, have sex, enjoy. Do nothing, just enjoy, enjoy.

I'll give you twenty years."

Man said, "What? Only twenty years" No way. Tell you what, I'll take

my twenty, and the forty the cow gave back, and the ten the dog gave back and

the ten the monkey gave back, that makes eighty, okay?"

"Okay," said God. "You've got a deal."

So that is why the first twenty years we eat, sleep, play, have sex, enjoy,

and do nothing; for the next forty years we slave in the sun to support

our family; for the next ten years we do monkey tricks to entertain the

grandchildren; and for the last ten years we sit on the front porch and

bark at everyone.

Life has now been explained

"Believe nothing because a wise man said it.
Believe nothing because it is generally held.
Believe nothing because it is written.
Believe nothing because it is said to be divine.
Believe nothing because someone else believes it.
But believe only what you yourself judge to be true."

--Siddhartha Gautama (c.563 - c.483 B.C.)

one said to the other:
"Do not tauten too much the strings of your sitar, or they will break,

Don´t let them too loose or they will not produce music"

one day while Nasruddin was in a meeting with sages and erudites

a monk suddenly appeared and said:

My master sends me to propagate the word:
"humanity will not be happy until the man who has not been insulted infuriates in the same way that the man that has been offended"

at the moment all were speechless, then Nasruddin talked:

"My master taught me not to infuriate until we know for sure if its a true offense and not a disguised blessing"

taoist stuff

"Words can never convey the beauty of a tree; to understand it, you must see it with your own eyes. Language cannot capture the melody of a song; to understand it, you must hear it with your own ears. So it is with the Tao: the only way to understand it is to directly experience it. The subtle truth of the universe is unsayable and unthinkable. Therefore the highest teachings are wordless. My own words are not the medicine, but a prescription; not the destination, but a map to help you reach it. When you get there, quiet your mind and close your mouth. Don't analyze the Tao. Strive instead to live it: silently, undividedly, with your whole harmonious being."

and a little more, i hope you like it

"Those who want to know the truth of the universe should practice the four cardinal virtues. The first is reverence for all life; this manifests as unconditional love and respect for oneself and all other beings. The Second is natural sincerity; this manifests as honesty, simplicity, and faithfulness. The third is gentleness; this manifests as kindness, consideration for others, and sensitivity to spiritual truth. The fourth is supportiveness; this manifests as service to others without expectation of reward. The four virtues are not an external dogma but a part of your original nature. When practiced, they give birth to wisdom and evoke the five blessings: health, wealth, happiness, longevity, and peace."

Everyone became frightened when they saw
the Mullah Nasruddin crossing in a hurry
the streets of the village
riding an ass

"¿Where are you going Mullah?" they asked him

"Im searching for my ass", he answered
as passing by.

¿where do they come from?

And the master asked: "¿And where does your question comes from?
